This past weekend brought the opportunity for our family (Brett, Jackson, and I) to head to Sandestin as I worked a conference. We were so excited for Jackson's first beach trip and the idea of his little toes touching sand for the first time. Well, God's sense of humor was in full force. . .it began to pour as we pulled into the resort Thursday evening and continued, along with tornado and flood warnings and winds of 35-40 mph, until Saturday afternoon at 2:30 pm. At that point we quickly changed into beach attire and dashed to the pool to document the momentous occasion. Even then it was only 70 degrees with winds of 15-20 mph. Jackson and mommy froze for our five minute photo opp and then bundled up and headed back inside to dry off. Once dry, we decided to take Jackson down to the beach in his stroller and try for the photo there. Needless to say, the child fell fast asleep during the 10 minute walk down to the beach. So there are no Jackson in the sand or surf photos, just Jackson in the stroller by the sand. Go figure! We'll have to wait for a summer trip to try again, and boy won't that be interesting as Jackson will most likely be crawling and able to eat sand. The adventures that lay ahead are so promising. . . :)Another post will be coming soon with "Mommy Musings" as I shall call them (and hope to leave some every couple of weeks or so). In the mean time, how darn handsome is my little boy?! He is scaring me again by looking like such a big boy (and today we hit the jump-a-roo for the first time!), but wow does he look adorable in his shades and swimming trunks!
And for those who like the weight updates, J Ford was 16 lbs 5 oz last Wednesday. At 16 lbs 14 oz, we will have doubled our birth weight - craziness! That car seat is a workout right about now!
My two handsome boys. . .Jackson already has his frat boy look down, complete with Croakies.
A super cool pool float with sun protection canopy. . .(onestepahead.com)
Sure do love my little buddy!
He actually didn't mind his sunglasses - we were shocked (again, onestepahead.com. I love their stuff! Smart, practical, stylish, and affordable)!
